Visit of ASUE collage students to the Fund

 

As part of the 2023 “Visitors’ Day at the Fund” campaign organized by the Deposit Guarantee Fund (hereinafter, the Fund), on May 3, the Fund welcomed third-year students of the Banking specialty from the College of Finance and Economics of the Armenian State University of Economics, accompanied by lecturer Tatevik Gamaghelyan and the college’s Career Center coordinator Lilit Khanzadyan.

The meeting took place in the conference hall of the Elite Plaza business complex.

The opening and welcoming address was delivered by Narek Ghazaryan, Member of the Fund’s Board of Trustees and Member of the Central Bank of Armenia Board. In his speech, N. Ghazaryan emphasized the importance of investing savings in secure and effective financial instruments to ensure a stable future. He also referred to global developments in the banking system in the context of deposit guarantee systems.

Hermine Harutyunyan, Executive Director of the Fund, presented the deposit insurance system in Armenia, the Fund’s role in the financial system, its functions and authorities, as well as international experience in deposit insurance. H. Harutyunyan also highlighted the importance of financial literacy and shared practical tools for students to start saving.

Subsequently, Sona Inglizian, expert at the Central Bank of Armenia’s Consumer Protection and Financial Education Center, provided students with practical knowledge and skills for using several banking tools. She specifically covered the use of bank cards, online shopping safety rules, and common fraud schemes.

At the end of the session, T. Gamaghelyan and L. Khanzadyan expressed their gratitude for the informative event, which equipped students with valuable knowledge and practical skills.
